I spent some time in the bread aisle reading labels. My mission is to start the family to eating whole grains but I have to be careful with my choices because my choice has to please the whole family. I noticed calorie wise the bread choices I had didn't differ much so that wasn't the most important factor. I never really liked whole wheat bread because of the dark color I am a very choosy person and so are two of my children. I like everything thing plain no condiments with the exception of bbq sauce. I think it's because I convince myself that I don't like something soley on how it looks or smells. I rarely taste anything and it's the same way with two of my children. Now on the other hand my hubby, my other son, and my mom loves to try new things. So basically we are split when it comes to that. There is one thing we all agree on however..We all prefer plain ole white bread. So I am figuring I should try a light color bread so I decided on oat bran. So far everyone seems to like it but I haven't got the opinion of my oldest son who is the king when it comes down to choicy. If all goes well with him then one hurdle is over. I have no problems with them and whole grain pasta so that hurdle is over. Now I need a brown rice recipe because a few family members don't like it which includes my hubby. I know there are other varieties of rices out there that are whole grain and healthy I can try. For now I will look for some brown rice recipes on the internet
